ANGELSONG

Whenever I feel frightened, or things are going wrong

I quiet down and listen, to hear an angelsong….

What do angels look like?  Do they really sit on stars?

Do they play around on moonbeams, and float on clouds afar?

Are angels soft and fluffy?  Do they drift on flakes of snow?

Are they hanging up the rainbows?  Who tells them where to go?

Can they save us from tornadoes; protect us from the storms?

Do they come by angelflight?  Were they there when we were born?

An angel led The Exodus, for God had sent him first

An angel spoke to Hagar to save her son from thirst.

There on Jacob’s ladder; and leading Peter out of jail;

An angel went to Jesus on His eve of Cross and nails.

Angels spoke to Mary; came to Joseph in his dreams

With messages and answers to fear and doubt, it seems.

Angels were in Bethlehem, singing from the sky

Their Angelsong to Jesus…first Christmas lullabye.

Were the angels of the Bible like angels of today?

Are they standing near me now, especially when I pray?

Just as sure as Autumn apples; like gifts of silvergold,

They’re missionary strong; angel services untold!

One will come, or many, from heavenly angelthrong.

We know they are around us by their hug of Angelsong!
